Class B CDL Driver
Work Schedule: Standard (Mon-Fri). Early mornings, some holidays. Part-time or full-time.
Starting pay: Negotiable based on experience. Standard: $20/hour (current CDL-B holder) or $18/hr (for trainees).
Job Summary:
A Driver is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. In addition, a Driver is responsible for ensuring their vehicle is in compliance with the Company’s safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle, and completes required reports on a daily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
CDL Class B License, or willingness to participate in company-provided training to obtain
Preferred graduation from high school or GED equivalency
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and carrying heavy objects
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Good communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
Safely operate your heavy truck along your designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, use company tracking systems and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by supervisor.

Courteously interact with all customers, coworkers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable company procedures.
Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.
Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (where appropriate) on each disposal trip.
Complete required route sheets and other reports, as required.
Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.

Physical Requirements:
The work requires the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work requires working on a large truck or other equipment for extended periods of time, climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Vocal communication is required to communicate with other workers and the public. Hearing is required to perceive spoken words and other sounds encountered in the course of work (sirens, automobiles, horns, and others). Visual acuity is required for moving equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work performed, and observing general surroundings and activities to ensure safety.
Working Conditions:
Work occurs primarily in outside environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold. Employee is subject to the noise which may require the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level. Employee is subject to vibration such as oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body when working with equipment. Employee is subject to hazards including exposure to mechanical equipment and atmospheric conditions due to exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, and oils and potential for biological or human waste. Employee is exposed to moving or parked vehicles, stray or loose animals, insects, broken glass and metal, and other conditions associated with solid waste collections.
