We regret that we need to cancel collection for your recycling tomorrow (Thursday1 route).

The ice storm has caused logistical issues for our operations beyond just being able to navigate the roads safely. We discovered late today that the sorting facility where we dump materials is closed today and tomorrow. They are located up the mountain where conditions are even worse than here and do not have enough employees who are able to navigate the roads to come in to work to operate. Therefore we do not currently have an empty truck available to fit your materials for your collection tomorrow.

We also don’t know when they will open back up due to the additional uncertainty created by the forecast this weekend for 4-8 inches of snow or more. Similarly we also can’t rely on having navigable roads next week or even for our own employees to be able to make it in on Monday. As such we are currently unable to realistically reschedule your route again. 

We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please use any containers, boxes, or bags (untied) for any overflow material and we will collect all of it on your next regularly scheduled collection date (2/12).

And of course, stay safe out there and have some fun in the snow if you are so inclined!
